With American Idol heading offstage, this show just has to deliver us this decade’s Kelly Clarkson soon. …Right?

MIDSEASON PREMIERES

Gotham (Fox, 8 p.m.)

Watch this as if it’s a strange prequel to the upcoming Batman vs. Superman. Why not?

Blindspot (NBC, 10 p.m.)

I would tell you what this drama’s about, but I just woke up in the middle of Times Square in a duffel bag covered in tattoos and can’t remember a thing. Strange!

SPECIAL

Mavis! (HBO, 9 p.m.)

The doc, featuring interviews with Bob Dylan, Prince, and Bonnie Raitt, covers soul music legend Mavis Staples’ career and civil rights work.

Tuesday, March 1

The Mother/Daughter Experiment: Celebrity Edition (Lifetime, 10 p.m.)
