Eliza Coupe is searching for a happier ending on Future Man.

The Happy Endings alum has nabbed the lead female role in the comedy pilot from Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, about a janitor named Josh Futterman (Josh Hutcherson), whose impressive, world-ranking gaming prowess leads him to be recruited by Coupe’s character, Tiger, to stop the extinction of humans in the future at the hands of an invading super-race.

Tiger is a futuristic soldier in a video game called Cybergeddon, who recruits Josh to time-travel to the past to save the future. She’s headstrong and has to keep her cohorts — the dim-witted Josh and her partner Wolf — on track with their mission, but also hides a secret of her own.

Coupe has previously appeared on Hulu’s Casual and can be seen in a recurring role on ABC’s Quantico. Written and exec-produced by Kyle Unter and Ariel Schaffir, the pilot of Future Man will be directed by Rogen and Goldberg, who also serve as executive producers alongside James Weaver and Matt Tolmach. The comedy is backed by Sony Pictures Television, Rogen’s Point Grey Pictures, and Matt Tolmach Productions.
