The X-Files season finale photos reveal a big reunion

An old friend is returning in The X-Files‘ season finale — and we don’t mean Scully’s umbrella.

Annabeth Gish is back as Agent Monica Reyes in “My Struggle II,” the sixth and final hour of season 10. In the newly released photos below, Reyes and Gillian Anderson’s Dana Scully appear to have some catching up to do. Elsewhere, Scully works with Agents Miller (Robbie Amell) and Einstein (Lauren Ambrose) to stop the spread of a mysterious illness.

Ambrose promises EW “global panic” in the finale, while series creator Chris Carter, who wrote and directed the episode, calls it “the answer to the question posed by the first part of the two-parter [the season premiere] … It is the predicament of their lives brought into the most frightening spotlight that I could imagine. The predicament of: Where is their child?”

One other predicament might need addressing: Where is Mulder (David Duchovny)?

The X-Files’ season finale airs Feb. 22 at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
