Anthony Hopkins’ performance as Hannibal Lecter in The Silence of the Lambs is one of the most chilling in cinematic history. Despite appearing on screen for only 17 minutes, Hopkins’ Lecter was striking enough to permanently embed itself in pop culture (and pick up a Best Actor Oscar along the way).

Twenty five years after Lambs opened in theaters, fans can still recite Lecter’s best lines by heart. It’s even more fun to hand the script to other famous actors, especially those not exactly Lecter-esque. W Magazine did just that, rounding up a murderer’s row of actresses — Kristen Wiig, Jane Fonda, Mya Taylor, Carey Mulligan, and Greta Gerwig — to line-read one of Lecter’s monologues to an unsettled Clarice Starling.

Wiig delivers a perfect ice-cold stare for the line, “What was your father, dear? A coal miner? Did he stink of the lamp?” Fonda follows it up with her delivery of, “Oh, how quickly the boys found you. All those tedious, sticky fumblings.”
