Ryan Reynolds, Katie Holmes play Musical Beers with Jimmy Fallon

The Roots are still Jimmy Fallon’s secret weapon.

His latest celebrity game, Wednesday night’s “Musical Beers,” heavily involved The Tonight Show‘s hip-hop house band. A riff on musical chairs, the game required contestants to fight over too-few red solo cups of beer. Roots drummer Questlove not only acted as DJ, starting and stopping the game’s decisive music, but was also the companion for losers. The other band members played the game alongside celebrity guests Ryan Reynolds and Katie Holmes.

Holmes turned out to be, in Fallon’s words, “a beast at this,” squeezing out Reynolds and Fallon in just the first few rounds, and one-by-one facing off agains the remaining members of the Roots.
