Ken Kratz is writing a book

Ken Kratz, the mustachioed prosecutor who put Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey in jail in the trials featured on Netflix’s Making a Murderer, is writing a book, he told ABC’s Action 2 News.

According to Kratz, he feels an obligation to write a book about the case “because the one voice forgotten to this point is Teresa Halbach,” the woman who Avery and Dassey were convicted of murdering. The former District Attorney of Calumet County tells Action 2 News that he’s “finally grateful to tell the whole story,” and says, “evidence was left out of the Netflix series because prosecutors were told they had to meet demands of the filmmakers to participate in the project.”

Kratz has been outspoken since Making a Murderer premiered on Netflix in December and in an email to PEOPLE, he wrote that the docu-series left out key evidence. “You don’t want to muddy up a perfectly good conspiracy movie with what actually happened and certainly not provide the audience with the evidence the jury considered to reject that claim.”
