The Fosters winter premiere sneak peek: A blast from the twins' past brings drama

Season 3 of The Fosters returns to Freeform — the new name for ABC Family — in January, and with it, a surprise visitor who may shake things up for twins Jesus and Mariana.

If you were too busy wiping away tears during The Fosters’ summer finale (Callie was adopted, you guys!), you may have missed Jesus’ unscheduled return from boarding school, complete with a brand new look (thanks to new cast addition Noah Centineo). Unfortunately for Jesus, this new look comes with the same old problems — mainly, girl drama.

In the exclusive sneak peek above, Jesus is back to his old antics: teasing his sister, annoying ex-girlfriend Emma, and rocking those sweet, sweet tank tops. But with one ring of the doorbell, all of that may change.

Surprise! Lexi, Jesus’ other ex — and Mariana’s BFF — arrives with big news: She and her family are back from Honduras — for good. Mariana is of course thrilled to have her gal pal return in time for junior year, but Jesus’ wary glance towards Emma means that he knows things are about to get awkward. Is the Emma-Jesus-Lexi love triangle back on?

The Fosters returns Jan. 25 at 8 p.m. ET.
