Downton Abbey final season trailer released

Get ready to say goodbye.

Masterpiece has released a sniffle-worthy teaser for the farewell run of Downton Abbey — which includes a passionate kiss from Mr. Bates and a meta-moment from Mary, saying, “It has been such a long road, can it really be the end of it?”

And then it’s time for a toast and more exquisite costumes!

In case you’re still shaken up by the show’s departure, here’s what executive producer Gareth Neame said when the decision was made to close the doors on the manor: “Inevitably there comes a time when all shows should end and Downton is no exception. We wanted to close the doors of Downton Abbey when it felt right and natural for the storylines to come together and when the show was still being enjoyed so much by its fans. We can promise a final season full of all the usual drama and intrigue, but with the added excitement of discovering how and where they all end up.”

The final season begins on Masterpiece on Jan. 3, 2016, at 9 p.m. ET.
