'Bring It On', 'Felicity,' 'Family Ties' casts reminisce in EW's reunion videos

Is there anything better than a good old reunion? No, not the kind of reunions where your aunts and uncles keep pointing out how tall you’ve gotten or where people you’ve never seen in your life claim to be your third cousins. We’re talking about cast reunions, where all you have to do is sit back and watch the actors who brought you characters you grew up loving talk about where their careers have gone, how fame affected them, and of course, the juicy behind-the-scenes details. For our 25th anniversary Reunions Issue, EW brought together the casts of Family Ties, Felicity, and Bring It On, among others, to look back on their beloved works, and dish all the dirt about what was going on when the camera weren’t rolling.

Family Ties

“People grew up with Family Ties,” Michael J. Fox tells EW. “That’s a very special relationship I enjoy with people. I was there for a lot of big things in their lives. I wasn’t physically there but I was a friend in their lives. It’s really a blessing to be able to have people associate you with something pleasant and positive in their lives.”

Felicity

“They cast me as Ben,” Scott Foley told EW. “I had wardrobe fittings and table readings and everything and then [show creators] J.J. [Abrams] and Matt [Reeves] said, ‘Hey we found someone we think is a great guy to play Ben.’ I said, ‘I’m Ben!’ They asked if I would be interested in playing Noel instead, and I was so happy to have a job I said of course. [Scott] Speedman showed up with a safety pin holding his shirt together and I said, ‘You’re right. He’s perfect for Ben.'”

Bring It On

“I remember not turning it down, exactly, but not being super sure about it. I was like, ‘A cheerleading movie?'” Kirsten Dunst admitted to EW. “It sounded like it could have been just a cheesy teen movie, but what sealed the deal for me was talking to the director, Peyton Reed, on the phone — he was just so smart. I agreed to do it mostly because of Peyton.”
