J.K. Rowling proved once again she’s the best author on Twitter this week, with a heaping helping of both Hogwarts nostalgia and updates for the future. Here’s some new info we got from the Harry Potter scribe this week:

Cursed Child will be two parts

At this point, we all have at least a vague idea of what Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them will entail. Eddie Redmayne will star as Newt Scamander and there will presumably be quite a few CGI monsters. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, on the other hand, remains shrouded in mystery. Pretty much all we’ve had to go on so far is that it’s a play and it’s not a prequel. This week, however, Rowling revealed that Cursed Child will come in two parts, “due to the epic nature of the story we’ve been working on.”

Pottermore rebooted, now with more Potter family history

Rowling has periodically used the official Harry Potter fan site Pottermore to dole out doses of details about series trivia and history. She dropped a big one this week to roll out the Pottermore redesign. In an essay called “The Potter Family,” Rowling described the lineage of Harry’s family, including information about how exactly they acquired the Invisibility Cloak

Hermione’s birthday

Following James Sirius Potter’s first day at Hogwarts earlier this month, this week involved another big date in the Harry Potter universe: Hermione Granger’s 36th birthday. That’s right, 36; chronologically the Potter characters are older than you realize. Rowling made sure to note the occasion, sending a cute missive to one of her most beloved characters. Rowling’s propensity to edit her Harry Potter universe doesn’t seem to be ending anytime soon; if she misses Hermione as much as she claims, maybe we’ll hear more soon about the greatest witch of her age.
