The full lineup for the 59th BFI London Film Festival was unveiled Tuesday, filling out a slate of 238 fiction and documentary features.
Bryan Cranston’s Trumbo, about the blacklisted Hollywood screenwriter, will be among the festival’s headline galas, as will Johnny Depp’s crime drama Black Mass; Nicholas Hytner’s The Lady in the Van; John Crowley’s Brookyln, starring Saoirse Ronan; and Ben Wheatley’s High-Rise, starring Tom Hiddleston.
The Cate Blanchett-Rooney Mara 1950s romance Carol will receive a gala screening, and Davis Guggenheim’s He Named Me Malala will be the festival’s documentary special presentation. And, as previously announced, the festival will open and close with the European premieres of Suffragette, with Carey Mulligan, and Michael Fassbender’s Steve Jobs.
