Channing Tatum may have met his match in Lea Seydoux.

The French actress has been offered the female lead opposite Tatum in Gambit, Fox’s X-Men spinoff movie, EW has confirmed. Deadline first reported the news.

Seydoux, who first turned heads in the coming-of-age drama Blue Is the Warmest Color and also has a role in the upcoming Bond movie Spectre, would play Bella Donna Boudreaux, leader of a guild of assassins.

Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes, The Gambler) is directing Gambit, which will star Tatum in the title role as a superpowered Cajun rogue who turns everyday objects into explosives. The script is by Josh Zetumer (2014’s RoboCop).

Along with Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool movie, Gambit underscores Fox’s efforts to expand its X-Men superhero franchise beyond the core characters. Gambit is set to hit theaters Oct. 7, 2016.
