How did a group of assorted animals and creatures from the ‘60s land a primo spot on the fall primetime schedule? Now you can find out.
Due to popular demand after screening the footage at Comic-Con, the folks behind The Muppets have released the 10-minute pilot presentation that convinced ABC to seal the deal. In the reel, Kermit and the gang try to convince Piggy to join their ranks once more and unite for a new TV show—meta much?
Bill Prady and Bob Kushell’s new take on Kermit, Piggy, and company is a docu-style sitcom that will explore the Muppets’ previously unseen personal lives in a hyper-modern way (Fozzie takes Uber! Gonzo tries online dating!). The show premieres on September 22 at 8/7c on ABC.
