Cover of illustrated 'Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone' revealed

Scholastic revealed the exclusive cover of the illustrated edition of J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone Thursday. The cover, illustrated by Jim Kay, features the bustle of Platform 9¾ as a young Harry Potter prepares to board the Hogwarts Express for the very first time.

Earlier this year, Scholastic released images of the re-imagined characters including a wand-wielding Hermione Granger and a very somber Hagrid. The publisher plans to publish fully illustrated editions, one per year, for each of the remaining books in the series.

Fans worldwide can pick up their copy of the fully illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone on Oct. 6, 2015.
