Voice of 'Babe' and 'Dexter' Christine Cavanaugh dead at 51

Voice actress Christine Cavanaugh, who brought to life notable animated characters in the '90s and early 2000s, has passed away at the age of 51.

According to her obituary in the LA Times, Cavanaugh died on Dec. 22; her cause of death is unknown. Cavanaugh gained prominence in voice-acting work through her role as Goslyn Duck in the 1991 cartoon, Darkwing Duck. She went on to voice Chuckie from Rugrats, Dexter from Dexter's Laboratory, and the titular Babe from the 1995 movie, Babe.

Cavanaugh's obituary said she retired from voice acting in 2001 and noted that, "Accolades, notoriety, and recognition were not the reason for her interest in entertainment, it was for the love of entertainment, to make people smile."
