Jack Bruce, bassist for Cream, dies

Jack Bruce, the British musician best known as the bassist and singer for legendary rock trio Cream, has died.

The 71-year-old musician’s family revealed the news Saturday morning via Bruce’s Facebook page and website.

“It is with great sadness that we, Jack’s family, announce the passing of our beloved Jack: husband, father, granddad, and all round legend,” the statement reads. “The world of music will be a poorer place without him, but he lives on in his music and forever in our hearts.”

According to the Associated Press, Bruce died in his home in Suffolk, England.
