Get another look at Benedict Cumberbatch in new 'Imitation Game' trailer

Director Morten Tyldum’s Alan Turing biopic has already staked a claim in the awards season race, picking up the top audience prize at the Toronto International Film Festival. Now you can take another glimpse at Benedict Cumberbatch’s heralded performance as the genius codebreaker in the film’s new U.K. trailer.

It’s widely known that Cumberbatch is good at playing characters assured of their own intelligence—Sherlock Holmes, for instance. His persona in The Imitation Game is no exception. “What if only a machine can defeat another machine?” he says at one point, with a gleam in his eye. But Cumberbatch’s characterization of Turing clearly isn’t just cocky posturing. The trailer also shows Turing’s developing relationship with Joan Clarke (Keira Knightley), and alludes to the persecution he endured for his homosexuality.

The film hits U.S. theaters Nov. 21.
