Casting Net: Keegan-Michael Key and Regina Hall join 'Vacation;' more

• Keegan-Michael Key and Regina Hall have signed on for New Line’s Vacation reboot, joining Ed Helms, Christina Applegate, Chris Hemsworth, and Leslie Mann. John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein are directing, marking their directorial debut. They also wrote the script. The film will tell the story of a grown-up Rusty Griswold (Helms) who takes his wife (Applegate) on a cross-country road trip, similar to one he took as a kid. Their destination is Walley World, an amusement park. Key and Hall will play family friends to the Griswolds. David Dobkin is producing through his David Dobkin Productions alongside Chris Bender. Jeff Kleeman and Marc Fisher are executive producing. [Variety]

• Danny Glover and Maya Rudolph are set to star in Diego Luna‘s Mr. Pig. The film follows a farm-worker (Glover) who travels from the U.S. to Mexico, joined by a pig whom he strikes a friendship with. Luna and Augusto Mendoza wrote the script. The film is being produced through Canana, which was founded by Luna, Gael Garcia Bernal, and Pablo Cruz. Mundial is managing international sales. The film is currently in production. [Variety]

• Pierce Brosnan will star in the dramatic thriller Urge as the maker of a new designer drug that takes away the ability to control any urges. He experiments on a group of friends vacationing on a island together. Aaron Kaufman, a producer on Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, will make his feature directorial debut from a script he co-wrote with Jason Zumwalt (Flock of Dudes) and Jerry Stahl (Permanent Midnight). �� Oscar nominee Terrence Howard is in talks to join the psychological thriller Man Down starring Shia LaBeouf, Kate Mara, and Gary Oldman. Set in a post-apocalypitc America, the film centers on an Afghanistan war veteran haunted by his experiences as he searches for his family. Dito Montiel (Fighting) will direct the picture written by Adam Simon. [The Wrap]

Jesse Metcalfe (Dallas), Meghan Ory (Once Upon a Time), Virginia Madsen (Sideways), and Dennis Haysbert (Men, Women & Children) are set to star in Dead Rising: Watchtower. Zach Lipovsky is directing. Tim Carter wrote the script based on the Capcom franchise. Set during a zombie apocalypse, a group of survivors must fight to survive, while also searching for the source of the outbreak, leading to a government conspiracy. The pic comes from Legendary Entertainment and Crackle. It is the first project from Legendary’s Digital Media division. Carter and Tomas Harlan are producing for Contradiction Films. Lorenzo di Bonaventura is executive producing. The film will debut as a feature on Crackle. Content Media has international rights to the film, and will release it as a feature and episodically. Filming is scheduled to begin Tuesday in Vancouver. [Deadline]
