Amanda Bynes arrested for DUI

Amanda Bynes has been arrested for driving under the influence of a drug, EW has confirmed per the California Highway Patrol. The 28-year-old, who was driving a Mercedes SUV, was stopped in the middle of the intersection in her in Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley early Sunday morning when she was stopped by CHP. She was taken to a CHP office for evaluation. The former child star was described in the report as having a “disheveled appearance.”

According to the Associated Press, Bynes posted $15,000 bail. Bynes has had a series of public troubles and run-ins with the law. Per the AP, she remains on probation for a 2012 incident in which she was arrested for driving under the influence after hitting a sheriff’s patrol car. Bynes left rehab in December 2013; she had been hospitalized in July of that year on an involuntary psychiatric hold.
