No one stirred a cocktail of decadence and danger quite like Patricia Highsmith. But this stylish slow-burn Euro-thriller pales next to such previous Highsmith adaptations as The Talented Mr. Ripley. Viggo Mortensen and Kirsten Dunst are a wealthy American couple vacationing in 1962 Greece who befriend a scamming expat (Oscar Isaac) who may be out to fleece them. Writer-director Hossein Amini uses murder, seduction, and betrayal to set a spring trap that never quite springs. But it sure looks swell. (Also on iTunes and VOD) B-
