The-Dream arrested on assault charges

Singer/songwriter and producer The-Dream (real name Terius Nash) turned himself in to the New York City police Wednesday morning on assault charges, according to People.

The-Dream is being charged with assault, strangulation, reckless endangerment of a child, and harassment after an April 4 incident with ex-girlfriend Lydia Nam outside the Plaza Hotel. Nam, 29, claims he assaulted and strangled her and made threats to kill her “like OJ Simpson killed Nicole Brown,” all while she was pregnant.

“Dream voluntarily surrendered to the Midtown North Precinct this morning in order to responsibly address the false allegations filed against him by Lydia Nam. He is innocent of the charges filed against him today, and we are confident that when this case is concluded and all the evidence has been reviewed, it will be clear that he is innocent,” his rep said in a statement.

The musician and ex-husband of Christina Milian posted a $20,000 cash bail. His court date is set for Sept. 8.
