PopWatch Planner: 'Game of Thrones' returns, and more

I can win over most of you with five words about this week: Game of Thrones is back. But if that’s not enough for you, we’ve also got a new Bill Murray film in theaters, a funny new read, and the start of the 25th season of MTV’s The Challenge. Let’s just say you’ve got a diverse and very interesting week of pop culture ahead of you. Here’s what your schedule looks like this week:

SUNDAY 4/6

Game of Thrones, 9 p.m., HBO

Could this be the best season yet? There’s only one way to find out.

MONDAY 4/7

In Performance at the White House, 9 p.m., PBS

Women of Soul is a celebration of female musicians. The show will feature artists such as Tessanne Chin, Melissa Etheridge, Aretha Franklin, Ariana Grande, Patti LaBelle, Janelle Monáe, and Jill Scott.

TUESDAY 4/8

The Voice, 8 p.m., NBC

The show’s first-ever playoff round begins when the Top 20 take the stage. Coaches will eliminate two from each team before the live shows.

WEDNESDAY 4/9

Chicago P.D., 10 p.m., NBC

If you’re late to the party, I’d recommend catching up on this cop show focused in the heart of Chicago. And this week, Burgess puts her life on the line trying to prove her worth.

THURSDAY 4/10

The Challenge: Free Agents, 10 p.m., MTV

For season 25 of MTV’s The Challenge, it’s every man/woman for himself/herself. There are no more partnerships, and there are no more teams. But at least we know there will still be plenty of hookups and ridiculous drama.

FRIDAY 4/11

The Neighbors, 8:30 p.m. ABC

The season 2 finale features Larry finding out he’s pregnant and deciding if he wants to stay on Earth while Reggie debates becoming a human. Plus, we will meet two new faces.

SATURDAY 4/12

St. Vincent De Van Nuys in theaters

Bill Murray stars in this dramedy about a retiree who forms a friendship with a 12-year-old neighbor. And with a cast that also includes Melissa McCarthy, Naomi Watts, Chris O’Dowd, and Terrence Howard; I’m in.

SUNDAY 4/13

I Don’t Know What You Know Me From: Confessions of a Co-Star by Judy Greer on shelves

Judy Greer’s memoir is out this week. It focuses on her crazy onscreen career, and I hear it’s as funny as she is (in every role she plays).
