'Santa Claus Is Coming to Town': You choose the best version -- POLL

The Twelve Days of Christmas Classics is on! EW is putting the best versions of the most-covered Christmas songs up to a daily vote to compile the ultimate holiday playlist. (We’ve already covered “Baby, It’s Cold Outside,” “The Christmas Song,” “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “Let It Snow!,” “The Little Drummer Boy,” “O Holy Night,” and “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.”) If your favorite singer isn’t in the list below, you better not pout: Each artist will only appear once throughout the 12 days. Next week, Santa Claus is, indeed, coming to town! This is one of the jolliest songs of all our Twelve Days of Christmas Classics, and all the upbeat versions below are charming in their own way.

We made a list and checked it twice, and now you can vote for your favorite version below:

Perry Como (1951)

While the song debuted in 1934, this is the first hit version. This intro isn’t used on any other version from our list, so it’s fun to hear Perry talk about his “lovely trip along the Milky Way.”

Fred Astaire (1970)

This version is from the stop-motion TV special, in which Astaire voices narrator/mailman S.D. Kluger, who looks exactly like his real-life counterpart. And just like Astaire himself, this rendition is a classic.

Jackson 5 (1970)

Michael Jackson was just 12 years old when he and his brothers recorded their Christmas album, yet there is so much soul in their upbeat version.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band (1975)

This live version was recorded at a 1975 concert on Long Island and wasn’t officially released until it showed up as a B-side on the 1985 single “My Hometown.” Somehow, Bruce takes a song about Santa and makes it into a rock and roll classic.

Michael Bublé (2011)

A lot of you have been waiting for a heaping helping of Bublé in our lists, and here he is. We love the jazzy horns in this version, not to mention his ad-libbed lyric at the end: “We mean the big fat man with the long white beard.”

Justin Bieber (2011)

The Biebs’ version, and his dance moves, are clearly inspired by idol Michael Jackson, but he gives it a modern twist. Bonus: Check out an animated version here.
