See Russell Crowe, Colin Farrell in 'Winter's Tale' trailer

Don’t let the name fool you: Winter’s Tale has nothing to do with Leontes, Hermione, and an exit, pursued by a bear.

Instead, it’s a sort of supernaturally inflected Aladdin/Walk to Remember/The Fountain mashup, starring Colin Farrell as charming World War I-era thief Peter Lake and Downton Abbey’s Jessica Brown Findlay (a.k.a. the dearly departed Lady Sybil) as the dying woman he loves.

Through mysterious means — time travel? A Sleepy Hollow-style decades-long dirt nap? — Lake finds himself still alive and kicking in present-day New York City, where friendly face Jennifer Connelly helps him remember his past and figure out what he’s meant to do in the future. (Evidently, it’s got something to do with his undying passion for Sybil.) Oh, and Connelly’s fellow Beautiful Mind Oscar winner Russell Crowe plays some kind of mustache-twirling Irish gangster. The film also features “Athansor, a mysterious white horse who becomes [Peter’s] guardian angel” — according to Wikipedia, anyway.

Winter’s Tale, written and directed by A Beautiful Mind‘s Akiva Goldsman, opens on Valentine’s Day — Feb. 14, 2014.
