Casting Net: Michael Caine joins 'In The Future'; Plus, Corey Stoll

• Michael Caine (The Dark Knight Rises) will star in the secretive project In The Future from Italian director Paolo Sorrentino (The Great Beauty). The two-time Oscar winner (for Hannah and Her Sisters and The Cider House Rules) is currently working on Christopher Nolan’s sci-fi adventure Interstellar. Caine also has a part in Brad Anderson’s Eliza Graves (based on Edgar Allan Poe’s short story) with Kate Beckinsale, Jim Sturgess, and Ben Kingsley. [Variety]

• In addition to Kristen Stewart, writer-director Tim Blake Nelson has added Sam Waterston (The Newsroom), Glenn Close (Damages), Gretchen Mol (Boardwalk Empire), Corey Stoll (House of Cards), Mickey Sumner (Frances Ha), and Michael K. Williams (12 Years a Slave) to his ensemble drama Anesthesia. [Deadline]

• Keene McRae, who recently appeared in CBGB, will play Cheryl Strayed’s (Reese Witherspoon) drug-addicted brother Leif in Jean-Marc Vallee’s (Dallas Buyers Club) adaptation of Strayed’s bestselling memoir Wild. [Deadline]
