New 'The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug' trailer debuts at fan event

Earlier today, The Hobbit fan event livestream featured a Q&A with stars Orlando Bloom, Evangeline Lilly, Lee Pace, Luke Evans, Richard Armitage, Andy Serkis, and director Peter Jackson. But along with the Q&A, the event debuted a new trailer for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, which shows new footage centered around the king under the mountain.

With the world in “grave danger,” the hobbits courageously set out on their next adventure, which comes complete with dragons, enormous spiders, and the epic fight scenes Lord of the Rings fans have come to expect. Watch the new trailer below:
