Richelle Mead's 'The Fiery Heart': Read the first chapter here

If you haven’t yet read—or at least heard of—Richelle Mead then you haven’t been paying enough attention. Earlier this summer Mead released Gameboard of the Gods, the first book in her Age of X series. (It’s good! Go read it.) And the movie version of her super-popular YA series Vampire Academy just wrapped filming and will debut In February 2014. (Zoey Deutch, Lucy Fry, Danila Kozlovskiy, and Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland will all appear in the film written and directed by Mark and Dan Waters of Mean Girls and Heathers fame.)

But I’ve really buried the lede here. We’ve got an exclusive excerpt from The Fiery Heart, the fourth book in Mead’s Bloodlines series, the spinoff to her Vampire Academy novels. Here, you can read the first chapter which is told through Adrian’s point of view. The Fiery Heart doesn’t hit shelves until Nov. 19, so at least pretend you can pace yourself through this first chapter. Oh, who am I kidding? You probably read it before you finished this post.
