Kristen Stewart, Keira Knightley, David Arquette, more casting news

• Kristen Stewart is lining up more projects for life after Twilight. She has signed onto two indie films that will shoot this summer, political drama Camp X-Ray and the Olivier Assayas-directed film Sils Maria. In Camp X-Ray, Stewart will play a young soldier who escapes her small town by joining the military, and, instead of getting a tour of duty in Iraq as she hoped, she ends up being sent to Guantanamo, where she encounters abuse and hatred from her superiors. For Sils Maria, Stewart joins Chloë Grace Moretz (Kick-Ass) and star Juliette Binoche (Chocolat) in the film about the introspective years of middle age. [Deadline]

• Keira Knightley (Pirates of the Caribbean) will share the screen with fellow Brit Benedict Cumberbatch (Star Trek Into Darkness) in biopic The Imitation Game. Directed by Morten Tyldum (Headhunters), the film is based on the life of Alan Turing, the British mathematician who deciphered German codes in World War II, helping prevent defeat for the Allies. Cumberbatch will play Turing. Details on Knightley’s role are yet to be revealed. [Variety]

• Civil War drama Field of Lost Shoes has gained three cast members: David Arquette (Scream), Lauren Holly (NCIS), and Tom Skerritt (A River Runs Through It). The film focuses on a group of young cadets who protect their school, Virginia Military Institute, when Union forces invade the Shenandoah Valley. Arquette is set to play a Union artillery officer, and Holly’s role is a visiting mother who ends up nursing wounded cadets. [THR]

• Whedonverse alum Fran Kranz (The Cabin in the Woods) and Kenny Wormald, who played Ren McCormack in the 2011 Footloose remake, will play brothers in upcoming drama The Living. The independently-produced film is about a man (Kranz) who awakes after a night of heavy drinking to realize he has severely beaten his wife. While he tries to redeem himself, his brother (Wormald), plans to hire someone to kill him. Also set to appear in The Living are Jocelin Donahue (The End of Love), Chris Mulkey (Cloverfield), and Joelle Carter (Justified). [Variety]
