Metallica added to Spotify

… And Spotify for all.

Metal gods Metallica have ended their lockout of the streaming music service, adding classic albums like Master of Puppets, Ride the Lightning, and yes, …Justice for All to the site.

The announcement was made yesterday when drummer Lars Ulrich appeared at a Spotify event in New York City (the day also featured a performance by Frank Ocean and an appearance by Napster cofounder Sean Parker).

There are of course still several significant holdouts on the site, including the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, and Radiohead (many of which, famously, have held out or are still holding out on iTunes availability as well).

At yesterday’s event, the company also announced several new features set to go live in January, including a “Follow” function that allows listeners to see what their favorite artists or other celebrities are listening to, and a “Discover” tab that suggests new music recommendations and notifies listeners about new releases from artists they already follow.
