Is McKayla Maroney impressed by Hart of Dixie? Seems so. The Olympics sensation has lined up guest-star role on The CW’s small-town medical drama.
Maroney is, of course, a member of the gold medal-winning U.S. team who competed at the Olympics this summer in London. She’ll appear in Hart of Dixie‘s second season as Tonya — a girl who comes to the defense of her friend of Rose (recurring guest star McKaley Miller). A few weeks ago The CW snatched up another Olympics star, Ryan Lochte, for a gig on 90210, and last week Maroney’s teammate Gabby Douglas landed a part on The Vampire Diaries (of the three roles, methinks Gabby got The CW guest-star casting gold medal).
Hart of Dixie stars Rachel Bilson and returns to The CW on Oct. 2.
