Kristen Stewart‘s tabloid woes have certainly not slowed her career. She’s attached to star in Lie Down in Darkness, an adaptation of the William Styron novel about the highly dysfunctional Loftis family and their beautiful-but-neglected daughter Peyton (Stewart). Director Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart) also penned the screenplay. [Vulture/THR]

• Abraham Lincoln is totally blowing up, you guys. Diane Kruger (Inglourious Basterds) has signed up for The Green Blade Rises, playing the 16th U.S. president’s influential stepmother Sarah, who married Lincoln’s father in 1819 after his biological mother Nancy died from an illness. The film, produced by auteur Terrence Malick and penned by first-time director A.J. Edwards (credited as an editor on Malick’s upcoming To the Wonder), spans three years in Lincoln’s childhood in rural southern Indiana. So the black-and-white film, which begins shooting this fall, won’t overlap with Steven Spielberg’s impending biopic Lincoln, which covers the man’s final four months; but it will overlap with a few of the events in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, which had a much different suggestion for what killed Ma Lincoln. (Hint: It’s in the title.) (No, not hunters.) [Deadline]

Check out projects for MATTHEW McCONAUGHEY, WILL FERRELL, CHRIS PRATT, KYLE CHANDLER, MARY ELIZABETH WINSTEAD, BOB ODENKIRK, YASIIN BEY (A.K.A. MOS DEF), and OCTAVIA SPENCER below:

Matthew McConaughey‘s career reboot is cruising along nicely, with the actor snagging a key role in Martin Scorsese‘s The Wolf of Wall Street. He’ll play Mark Hanna, who oversees the early career of stock market shark Jordan Belfort (Leonardo DiCaprio). Jonah Hill, Kyle Chandler, Jean Dujardin, Rob Reiner, Margot Robbie, and Jon Bernthal costar. Terrence Winter (creator of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire) adapted Belfort’s memoir for the film. [Deadline]

Will Ferrell is adding to his roster of clutch cameos in other people’s comedies: The star will play a small role as Owen Wilson‘s brother-in-law in The Internship, about two unemployed salesmen (Wilson and Vince Vaughn) who try to boost their careers by getting internships at a tech conglomerate. Shawn Levy (Real Steel) is directing from Vaughn’s script. [Variety]

• Speaking of Vince Vaughn, Chris Pratt (NBC’s Parks and Recreation) is negotiating to costar with Vaughn in an untitled comedy about a man who learns he’s fathered 533 children through a sperm bank. Pratt would play the man’s attorney. Writer-director Ken Scott is remaking his own French-Canadian film, 2011’s Starbuck. [Variety]

Kyle Chandler, Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World), Bob Odenkirk (AMC’s Breaking Bad), and Andre Royo (Red Tails) have signed up for supporting roles in The Spectacular Now, about a high schooler (Project X‘s Miles Teller) and the withdrawn loner he attempts to reform (Shailene Woodley). Michael H. Weber and Scott Neustadter ((500) Days of Summer) adapted Tim Tharp’s novel of the same name. James Ponsoldt (2012 Sundance hit Smashed) is directing. [Variety]

Yasiin Bey (formerly known as Mos Def) has joined the music drama Can A Song Save Your Life?, playing the business partner to a struggling music producer (Mark Ruffalo), who discovers a similarly struggling musician (Keira Knightley) in a bar. Hailee Steinfeld, Adam Levine, and Cee Lo Green costar. Director John Carney (Once) also wrote the script. [THR]

Octavia Spencer will costar in Baggage Claim, a romantic comedy about an unlucky in love flight attendant (Paula Patton) who is on the hunt for a husband. David E. Talbert (First Sunday) is directing. [Deadline]
