• Win a Tony, play a reality TV superstar. Recent Best Actor in a Play winner James Corden (One Man, Two Guvnors)has signed up to portray mega-selling opera singer and Britain’s Got Talent winner Paul Potts in the biopic One Chance. David Frankel (The Devil Wears Prada) will direct. Cordon has also joined the music-industry drama Can A Song Save Your Life as the best friend to Keira Knightley‘s aspiring singer. Mark Ruffalo, Adam Levine, and Hailee Steinfeld round out the cast for that film, which will be helmed by John Carney (Once). [Deadline]

• Speaking of Once and Tony Awards afterglow, recent Tony nominee Cristin Milioti (Once) is in talks to join Martin Scorsese‘s The Wolf of Wall Street, to play the first wife to real-life Wall Street wheeler-dealer Jordan Belfort (Leonardo DiCaprio). Jonah Hill, Jean Dujardin, and Kyle Chandler costar. [Variety]

Magic Mike‘s Alex Pettyfer has joined director Lee Daniels‘ biopic The Butler, as a character named Thomas Westphall who plays a key role in the early life of long-serving White House butler Eugene Allen (Forest Whitaker). Stripping will likely not be involved. [Deadline]

Cam Gigandet will reunite with original Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke for the thriller Plush, as a psychologist capable of entering the minds of his patients. Emily Browning (Sucker Punch) costars as a woman who has a similar ability. Hardwicke co-wrote the script with Artie Nelson. [Variety]

Ed Helms has joined the meta-romcom They Came Together costarring Paul Rudd and Amy Poehler, as an accountant who becomes Poehler’s love interest, naturally named Eggbert. David Wain is directing from a script he penned with Michael Showalter. Helms will also star in a small role in the comedy We’re The Millers, playing the boss of Jason Sudeikis. Rawson Marshall Thurber (Dodgeball) is directing. [Deadline]
