Today is Earth Day, so you may be out planting a tree or cleaning up a park this afternoon, or just admiring the flowers. But after you get back in from your gardening or recycling, there’s plenty of pop-culture and entertainment activities in store for the week ahead, from a Dancing With the Stars special to a Queen-themed Idol; the President hitting up late night to a fun rom-com opening in theaters to start your weekend.

Have a great week!

SUNDAY

FOX’s 25th Anniversary Special —FOX, 8 p.m.

There’s still time to catch some green programming today — well, blue, if you count Marge’s hair — on the FOX’s 25th Anniversary Special. The show traces a quarter-century of programming on the network and features interviews with some favorite FOX casts, including That ’70s Show, Married with Children, Beverly Hills, 90210, and Ally McBeal.

Read more about the special here and tune in for a blast from the past. Kick the celebration off early with a rebroadcast of the first episodes of Married with Children and The Simpsons starting at 7 p.m.

MONDAY

Dance Floor Confidential on 20/20 — 10 p.m., ABC

How do they choose the celebrities who appear on Dancing With the Stars? What is training really like? What’s Tom Bergeron’s workout routine? How do the makeup artists get everyone so sparkly? These and more burning questions are answered in a special edition of 20/20 with Lara Spencer. Learn everything you never knew you needed to know and more about ABC’s hit dance show. Here’s a preview.

TUESDAY

President Barack Obama on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon — midnight, NBC

It’s official: Election season 2012 has begun. The President swings by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon Tuesday to chat in a special episode being filmed at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Aptly, the topics up for discussion will include Obama’s plan to keep student loan costs down. Dave Matthews will be the musical guest.

WEDNESDAY

American Idol — 8 p.m., FOX

The remaining Idols take on hits by classic rock icons Queen this week – could an Adam Lambert surprise appearance be in store? Original band members Brian May and Roger Taylor are already scheduled to perform in an ensemble number with the six finalists. The last time the show featured an entire Queen-themed episode was in Season 5 (i.e. Taylor Hicks’ winning year).

THURSDAY

Scandal — 10 p.m., ABC

If you haven’t kept up with ABC mid-season entry Scandal, this is a good week to dig in! Things are heating up with Olivia (Kerry Washington) and her crack team of lawyers, and it’s anyone’s guess where her tenuous ties with the President will go next.

FRIDAY

Five Year Engagement opens in theaters

Finally, a decent date night movie that doesn’t involve superheroes or kids killing each other. Five Year Engagement, starring Jason Segel and Emily Blunt, focuses on a couple that have put off the big day for, well, five whole years. Hilarity and Blunt’s adorable British accent ensue.

SATURDAY

The Wind Through the Keyhole by Stephen King

Stephen King fans, the wait is over! The latest installment in the horror master’s Dark Tower fantasy series comes out this week, so spend your Saturday curled up with a good book. Keyhole, the eighth novel in the series, was announced in 2009 and takes the reader back into Roland’s world. You can pre-order on Amazon.

SUNDAY

Bruce Springsteen plays New Orleans Jazz Fest

The first weekend of the historic New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival culminates with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street band on Sunday afternoon. Not headed to Nola? No worries, the Fest is livestreaming on YouTube and radio station WWOZ. Laissez les bon temps rouler!
