Bummer for Ben: 'Bachelor' hits ratings low

Sorry, Ben — no one seems to care about you or who you choose. The finale of The Bachelor on Monday posted its lowest-rated finale ever with a 2.9 rating/8 share in adults 18-49, according to early results. That’s also a 36% drop from last season’s finale on the same night last year. Yikes!

It’s not like the competition was that heavy: CBS ran repeats of its comedies and Hawaii 5-0, while FOX aired a repeat of House and an original of the low-rated Alcatraz (1.6/4). The only network with any fight in it was NBC, which aired a two-hour edition of The Voice that posted a 5.1/14 in the demo and gave the Peacock a nightly win. Still, the singing competition was down 18% from last week and ranked as its lowest telecast of the season. Smash earned a 2.4/6, down 11% from last week.

Is Daylight Savings to blame?

Overall, NBC won in the demo (4.2/11), followed by ABC (3.0/8), CBS (1.9/5) and FOX (1.4/4). The night’s most-watched show was The Voice at 14.3 million, followed by the After the Rose ceremony (9.8 million).
