Executive producer Mark Schwahn wanted Lucas Scott (Chad Michael Murray) to return to One Tree Hill on Feb. 22 for the CW show’s last season, but the homecoming had to feel organic. Fortunately, the storyline presented a perfect opportunity: The husband of Lucas’ longtime buddy Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti) is missing, So she’d naturally turn to Lucas for a little ­support. “It’s a nice little gift for fans who want to see him one last time,” Schwahn says.
