Revenge continues to solidify its new-hit status. The primetime soap rose 11 percent to its biggest rating since its series premiere Wednesday night.

Revenge (8.6 million viewers, 3.0 adults 18-49 rating) won the 10 p.m. hour, beating CBS’ CSI (10.6 million, 2.7) and NBC’s Law & Order: SVU (7 million, 2.0) by its widest margin yet in the key adult demo. Also on ABC, The Middle (9.4 million, 2.9) and Suburgatory (8.5 million, 3.1) dipped slightly. The 9 p.m. hour was steady, with Modern Family featuring Chazz Palminteri and Jennifer Tilly as guest stars (13.2 million, 5.6) followed by Happy Endings (7.8 million, 3.5) — expect Happy Endings, which was only given a 13-episode order this season, to get a full-season pickup soon.

Meanwhile, Fox was the highest-rated network overall with The X Factor (11.5 million, 3.9), down slightly from its last Wednesday telecast.

CBS had a strong and steady performance from Survivor (11.9 million, 3.5), while Criminal Minds (12.9 million, 3.6) dipped a bit.

NBC struggled: Up All Night (4.7 million, 1.8) was down 14 percent to a new low at 8 p.m. and Harry’s Law with guest Jean Smart (7.1 million, 1.1) fell 15 percent to an all-time low.
