Hospitalized
”Beautiful Girls” singer Sean Kingston, 21, was involved in a Jet Ski accident in Miami Beach on May 29 and taken to a Miami hospital. He was upgraded from critical to serious condition on June 5.

Courts
Amanda Brumfield, 31, the estranged daughter of actor Billy Bob Thornton, was convicted May 27 of aggravated manslaughter by an Orlando court for the death of a 1-year-old child in her care.

Deaths
Singer-songwriter Andrew Gold, 59, died June 3 from a heart attack at his home in Encino, Calif. He was best known for ”Lonely Boy” and ”Thank You for Being a Friend,” which was used as the theme for The Golden Girls…. Controversial doctor Jack Kevorkian, 83, died June 3 following a bout with pneumonia and kidney problems…. Clarice Taylor, who portrayed Grandma Huxtable on The Cosby Show, died May 30 from heart failure at age 93.
