Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer(June 15): Look! A dynamic duo streaking through the air — the slick, practically liquid Silver Surfer (pictured), and the burning hot human torch Johnny Storm. Which leaves me wondering: Is a whole lot of flying really the most engaging way to tease an audience for a big-budget blockbuster sequel? And on a related note, how come so little Jessica Alba?

Ocean’s Thirteen(June 8): Either you’re excited by the idea of a tuxedo-clad George Clooney delivering cheeky one-liners and knowing glances, or you’re not. True, they could just as well have called this third installment Ocean’s Annoying, but then again, resisting the cool of Brad Pitt, Don Cheadle, Matt Damon, and Carl Reiner at their dapper dandiest is going to be a lot harder come summertime, don’t you think?

I Think I Love My Wife
(March 16): A comedy from writer/director Chris Rock that actually looks funny? Great. A trailer that seems to give away two hours worth of plot twists? Not so much. Still, the presence of Gina Torres, Kerry Washington, and Steve Buscemi hints at this one being more than an extended Rock riff, and one cannot argue with the use of En Vogue’s “My Lovin’ (You’re Never Gonna Get It)” and Gnarls Barkley’s “Gone Daddy Gone” cover.
