Disney plans a ''Narnia'' sequel

Now that The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe has out-roared King Kong at the box office — at $226 million and counting, it stands a chance of toppling Finding Nemo as Disney’s highest-grossing domestic title ever — sequel talk is in full swing.

Next up: Prince Caspian, based on the fourth of C.S. Lewis’ seven-book series, which producer Walden Media is developing for a target release of Christmas 2007. (This Dec. 20, Paramount plans to release another big Walden film, the live-action/CGI Charlotte’s Web.) Narnia director Andrew Adamson is in talks to return for Caspian, and the actors playing the Pevensie siblings (William Moseley, Georgie Henley, Skandar Keynes, and Anna Popplewell) are already signed. But there are no plans to shoot multiple sequels at once, and no worries about future salary hikes for the young stars — perhaps because Caspian is the only other Narnia book in which the four characters all appear as kids.
