Adults might not be familiar with this Sisterhood, starring Joan of Arcadia‘s Amber Tamblyn and Gilmore Girls‘ Alexis Bledel, but it’s hard to find a teenage girl who hasn’t read Ann Brashares’ best-seller about four pals who share a pair of magical jeans. ”When I read the screenplay it reminded me of a film that had a profound effect on me, American Graffiti,” says director Ken Kwapis. ”I remember feeling like each character represented an aspect of my personality. This is the same idea, but for women.”
