Get ready for a Destiny's Child sister act

It’s been hard enough over the past couple of years getting all three of the busy members of Destiny’s Child in the same room together, but manager/stage dad Mathew Knowles believes they could coordinate their schedules even if there were four of them. Earlier this week, he told the Los Angeles Times that the group would expand into a quartet. Now, however, he tells MTV News that he was just throwing the idea of a fourth member against the wall to see if it would stick. ”And judging by what I’ve heard, it seems like a good idea,” he said.

The fourth member would likely be Solange Knowles, who has recorded with big sister Beyoncé and with Destiny’s Kelly Rowland, and who has subbed for Rowland on tour (for a few dates in 2000, while Rowland was sidelined by two broken toes). Papa Knowles said that the group would test the waters as a foursome with a song to be recorded for a movie soundtrack later this year, and that Destiny’s Child would return to the studio in early 2004 to record a new album.

Actually, Destiny’s Child started out a decade ago as a quartet, with Beyoncé, Rowland, LaToya Luckett, and LaTavia Roberson. In early 2000, Luckett and Roberson were mysteriously fired and replaced with Michelle Williams and Farrah Franklin; Franklin left just a few months later. As for the three current members, all have full schedules over the next few months. Beyoncé is promoting her new album ”Dangerously in Love” and her leading role opposite Cuba Gooding Jr. in the September movie ”The Fighting Temptations.” Rowland stars in August’s ”Freddy vs. Jason,” and Williams is recording her second gospel album.
