Will Wesley Snipes bite again for ''Blade III''? The vampire sequel already has a director, a location, and a start date

Now all he needs is a lead vampire. David Goyer, who wrote ”Blade” and wrote and produced ”Blade II,” finally moves up to the director’s chair in ”Blade III.” He’s got a script (which he wrote), a shooting location (Vancouver), and a hoped-for start date this summer. The only thing not nailed down, according to Variety, is franchise star Wesley Snipes.

Still, Variety reports, New Line Cinema expects Goyer and Snipes to set a date this summer. Snipes would return as the Marvel Comics half-human/half-vampire, for a story in which Blade must counteract an apocalyptic cataclysm that threatens to give vampires free rein over the Earth. No word on whether the result will be a ”Blade IV,” but Goyer is already busy writing a screenplay about another bat-man; Warner Bros. has commissioned him to write a script for its long-anticipated ”Batman” resurrection.
