RELATIONSHIP STATUS After their first date ended with SD-6 agents trying to kill them, the double agent (Syd) and her ”handler” (Vaughn, and yes, that’s his official title) decided that they could only be together if SD-6 and the evil Alliance were obliterated. Darn if it didn’t happen. The post-Super Bowl episode left the two in a passionate embrace amid the smoking ruins of her former office (guess all that gunfire couldn’t kill the mood). And — finally! — the pair consummated their passion in the Feb. 2 episode…with bad Francie spying on them.

WHY WE LOVE THEM These two are inextricably linked: They both lost a parent at a young age — but it turns out that Sydney’s mom, who was thought to have died in a car crash, is still alive and was responsible for killing Vaughn’s dad.

WHY WE DON’T The path to true love doesn’t always run smooth. But for these star-crossed lovers the path is a land mine-strewn, sharpshooter-packed obstacle course. You don’t have to be an espionage aficionado to guess that the twists of the last few episodes will translate into more potholes on the road to a happy ending.
