Scripted by Draper, this sleeper casts the thirtysomething alum as a single mom who introduces her son (Christopher George Marquette), a piano student with Tourette’s syndrome, to a jazz saxophonist (Hines) with the same disorder. Despite TV-level production values, it bravely avoids Afterschool Special-style lessons. And unlike a recent subplot on Ally McBeal, it doesn’t treat Tourette’s as a cutesy quirk. B+
