Movie Review: 'Bittersweet Motel'

For Phish phans who have traded in their bohemian lifestyles for killer audio-video systems, this documentary — which lovingly follows the Vermont quartet on their 1997-98 tour — will have them noodle-dancing to their heart’s content, thanks to its crisp concert footage. But the behind-the-scenes moments are as aimless as the band’s long-form jams, offering neither a definitive take on the band’s cultural importance nor a primer for non-a-Phish-ionados. C+
