Titanic the movie may be stalled, but it’s full steam ahead on related projects. Among them:

MUSIC Just as Nero fiddled while Rome burned, Rhino Records is releasing Titanic: Music as Heard on the Fateful Voyage (June 10), a collection of 24 tunes heard from first class (”Alexander’s Ragtime Band”) to steerage (”Frankie and Johnny”). Ironically, the album (right) includes the song ”Fall In and Follow Me.”

TV CBS’ miniseries Titanic didn’t prove seaworthy, but A&E’s Titanic: Death of a Dream snagged two 1995 Emmys, and April’s Titanic: Anatomy of a Disaster was the Discovery Channel’s biggest ratings grabber. Discovery has no plans to rerun its docu, but A&E is banking on a repeat. Says A&E spokeswoman Kathie Gordon, ”If you hear when they’re going to bring the movie out, let me know.”

MULTIMEDIA A digital tour of the ill-fated behemoth — at a fraction of Cameron’s budget — can be found in Titanic: Adventure out of Time, an interactive CD-ROM.

BOOKS There’s a virtual armada of 85th-anniversary-related tomes, including Last Dinner on the Titanic: Menus and Recipes From the Great Liner. Publisher Hyperion is confident that what seems tasteless will prove tasty. ”It’s a celebration of the lives these people were leading,” says publicist Tracey George. Remember, after eating, wait an hour before swimming.
