Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers

While still set in Haddonfield, Ill., and featuring Michael Myers in his William Shatner mask, this disappointing sixth Halloween makes a good case for sticking with a formula. The series, created by John Carpenter (who’s now long gone), is hopelessly mired in a mythos of Myers as Druidic creation, and Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers continues the increasingly convoluted story line set up in the previous film. With talk of stars aligning and an infant that must be sacrificed, Myers becomes an illogical plot device that seems to have wandered in from some studio’s licensing office. Worse, there are enough chilling set pieces to support rumors that meddling producers ruined a once-interesting film. D
