Sales and Operations Director

Who we are?

We are Scienseed, a communications, marketing, and advertising agency specializing in scientific and technical communications. We are leaders in the field and have been continuously growing since our inception 10 years ago.


We work on innovative projects with significant social impact, collaborating closely with major international organizations, foundations, research centers, the pharmaceutical industry, and small tech startups.


Currently, our team consists of 20 people, and we have just reached a tipping point: a merger that has greatly strengthened us and opened up even greater growth potential than before.


Role Overview

For the role of Sales and Operations Director, we are seeking an individual to support the CEO in managing the company. This person will lead end-to-end everything related to clients: sales, internal and external project management and organization, and oversee the final administration of the projects.


Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop the company's sales strategy: seek new business, conduct market research, and propose and execute innovative strategies to support company growth. We have great potential, but we aim for strategic and orderly growth.
  • Lead the sales and accounts team: oversee all activities of the project department, ensuring a functional and well-coordinated team. We seek to attract new clients while ensuring the satisfaction of our existing loyal customers.
  • Manage the organization of work and coordinate with the heads of the production departments to ensure proper execution of projects. Ensure order, responsibility, and smooth workflows.
  • Coordinate administrative activities with the billing managers and those responsible for the economic justification of the company’s grants.

Requirements

There are many paths that can lead to this position. Degrees in both science and the humanities are suitable for the role we have in mind. Individuals with a scientific background who have pursued an MBA, or those with business management experience specializing in communication agencies, are particularly relevant to us.

Languages: Fluency in English and Spanish is required. Additional languages will be considered an asset.

Experience: At least 4-5 years in a similar role in companies of a comparable size.


Personal skills

  • Self-starter, objective-driven and confident to work independently without daily supervision/oversight
  • Experience leading teams is a must. We are looking for empathetic individuals who excel in team-building and bringing out the best in those around them. Candidates should have experience balancing tact and diplomacy with maintaining a motivated team without losing sight of demanding high standards and quality.
  • Proficiency in written, verbal and presentation communication skill.
  • Must be able to develop and maintain relationships/partnerships and to work collaboratively both internally and externally
  • Change management and Project management experience
  • Excellent MS Office and Office 365 skill
  • Highly organized and willing to undertake significant responsibility whilst also undertaking a significant amount of routine administrative duties
