We're excited to share that Volotea was the first airline to land at the newly opened Salerno-Costa d'Amalfi Airport! 🇮🇹 ✈️   Today marks the beginning of our operations at the airport, where we'll offer four connections: Nantes (available from today), Cagliari (launching July 13th), and Catania and Verona from September. These routes, with a total of 35,000 seats, underscore our commitment to the region and our confidence in the airport's potential. 🌟   The new connections will allow more travelers to experience the cultural and scenic beauty of Campania and the Amalfi Coast. We're very happy to share that we inaugurated our 21st base in Europe at Bari Karol Wojtyła Airport earlier today, marking our eighth base in Italy. We celebrated with a special event at the airport attended by our International Market Director, Valeria Rebasti, and Airports of Apulia President, Antonio M Vasile, along with their respective teams and local press.     Since the start of our operations in Bari in 2012, we've been a part of the region's growth, having transported over 2 million passengers. This year, we're offering 224,000 seats—a 37% increase compared to 2023—to a total of 18 destinations, 50% of which are operated exclusively by our airline. Our inaugural event also marked the launch of new routes from Bari, including exclusive connections to Bilbao, Comiso, Preveza/Lefkada, and Split and routes to Dubrovnik, Malaga, Rhodes, and Toulouse.   This milestone underscores our more than a decade-long commitment to the Apulia region and our dedication to enhancing connectivity between this vibrant area and the rest of Italy and Europe. This collaboration combines our extensive European network with Abra's long-haul reach across the Americas, creating an integrated solution that enhances connectivity for consumers all across Europe and Latin America, via Madrid. This joint venture is positioned as an optimal solution and a compelling alternative to act as a 'remedy taker' in the prospective merger between IAG and Air Europa. Earlier today in Madrid, our CEO and Founder, Carlos Muñoz, and Adrian Neuhauser, CEO of Abra Group, detailed this initiative at a press conference. ✈️   This partnership will enable passengers to travel from our various bases and operational cities in Europe to Madrid, where they can seamlessly connect to over 130 destinations in Latin America, North America, and the Caribbean.
