The current structure total length is 770 m over the total 908.7 m. We have moved 172 m with a total weight of 9,800 ton in three days. 🏎 💪 The launching of the deck is a delicated and complex operation that requires great precision and coordination. Over the coming months, MK4 will continue to provide its services to the construction company SACYR to ensure the success of the work. 🌉A Collaborative Success Story: We´re excited to share a major milestone achieved by De Vlaamse Waterweg nv, where MK4 played a pivotal role. 🌉 This project involved replacing the iconic "banana bridge" over the Alberta Canal on the Turnhoutsbaan in Wijnegem (Belgium) with two new bridges: one for road traffic and another for bicycles and pedestrians. 🛠️In collaboration with HYE NV, our team at MK4 was entrusted with supplying the structural bearings and expansion joints for the new road bridge. This steel bridge, spanning 88 meters and supported by concrete pillars, is now equipped with spherical structural bearings which enable the transmission of higher forces to the structure while occupying less installation space. 🏗️For the expansion joints, we provided both finger and modular types, incorporating noise reduction plates to minimize noise.
